Hi, Thanks for your site! I'm trying to repair a Satellit 500, I got it for 1 euro or one dollar:), the radio works, people are speaking for only some 10seconds and then only noise, all the rest seems to work, I have to wait some hours to be able to hear a normal reception for some seconds (the battries are ok). I'm bad with electronics and dont know with what to start.

I supose that the engine that transformes the signal into a voice is verry tired! Would be verry happy If you can give me some advice. Best Regards.

My Satellit 500 is doing about the same thing. FM became intermittant then stopped working altogether about a year ago, and then the AM and SW started going to just noise at power-up or after a while of listening. Switching to FM and back to AM would sometimes 'fix it' for that listening session. Surprisingly I have been able to improve it in the past for extended periods of time by removing an cleaning the RF board (the top one where the antenna connects) with non-residue contact cleaner. It is now getting worse, in that it is much more frequent, no matter what I do.
